About Goodwife In 1997 after giving birth to my first son and graduating from an Ivy League business school, I gave up the corporate world to raise my child. Six years and two children later I was asked to host a Ladies’ Night in my suburban Boston neighborhood. Hosting a fun and original party can be daunting – I wanted my party to reflect how I was feeling about myself as a mother and a wife. I thought to myself “What is a good wife?” Can she feel sexy, smart, accomplished, and be a good wife all at the same time. For my party I created the Goodwife logo and printed it on undies and t-shirts to give out as party favors. I also created a Goodwife cocktail menu with fun names of well-known Goodwives, like the Carol Brady Cosmo and the Jackie O’Rangetini. The surprise activity was a short questionnaire to determine who among the guests was indeed the best Goodwife. The questions ranged from “How many times in the past month has Hubby golfed?” to “How often do you initiate sex with Hubby?” What does a Goodwife like to wear? A Goodwife wants to be comfortable and sexy at the same time, whether she’s going to the market, out for date-night with Hubby, or hosting a party of her own. The panties and t-shirts were a hit and I was bombarded with requests for other Goodwife merchandise. In early 2004, I created a small line of Goodwife ladies’ apparrel and accessories to sell at other Goodwife parties. Since then, Goodwives across the country are enjoying comfortable, great fitting, sexy apparel, and are still getting asked, “What is a Goodwife?”
